First redress bill is introduced by Representative George Danielson, Democrat from California. The bill does not pass in committee.

This bill would have created a Relocation Benefits Commission to help those incarcerated under E.O. 9066 to secure grants, loans, etc. through existing federal programs. Funds for this program could come from a trust fund set up by the treaty allowing for the return of Okinawa to Japan. H.R. 15717 did not pass out of committee.
