Sokiku Nakatani

Sokiku Nakatani (1903-1990) was a long time resident of the Sacramento area and Los Angeles and a dedicated student and teacher of Chado (The Way of Tea). Her teacher was Madame Sosei Matsumoto, one of the nation's most influential and highly regarded masters of Chado. Sokiku Nakatani received numerous licenses from the Urasenke Headquarters for her mastery in tea leading to the license of "First Degree instructor" or Jun-Kyoju in 1982.
